Meadow Argus (junonia villid) is found throughout Australia and lives in urban areas, forests and woodlands. 4 cm - 5 cm in size. The adults of the Meadow Argus Butterfly are seen in Sydney throughout most of the year and migrate north in October or November

Colourful Cicada

My husband went to check the mailbox today and spotted this Cicada on a Kangaroo plant growing in the garden. Hopefully after the rain, the insects are coming back into the gardens. Peter thinks this is a Yellow Monday Cicada

I believe this is a Splendid Ochre (Trapezies symmomus)I found it lurking in the undergrowth in the wild on the south coast of New South Wales, Near Helensburg
