From May to November wildflowers light up the deserts of Western Australia, South Australia and New South Wales. In WA, the season starts in the Kimberley and then proceeds south, and the spectacle has become a major tourist attraction. This gallery contains just a few of the 20,000 species of wildflowers there are in Australia. Each one is as unique as the next, and when the conditions are right they pop up anywhere from the desert to alpine slopes.
